Job Overview

The West Virginia University School of Medicine, Department of Neurosurgery and WVU Rockefeller Neuroscience Institute are seeking a Spine Neurosurgeon (Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor). The successful candidate will practice at WVU Medicine Wheeling Hospital in Wheeling, WV, where a full‑service neurosurgery practice is offered.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will practice general neurosurgery, with a focus on expanding a Level 2 neurotrauma service in partnership with Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, WV. Additional training in neurotrauma or critical care is advantageous but not required. Wheeling Hospital is investing in trauma and critical care services to support general neurosurgical spine care in the region.

Qualifications

• MD, DO, or foreign equivalent eligible for state medical licensure.
• Completion of a neurosurgery residency program.
• Board‑eligible/board‑certified (BE/BC) in neurosurgery.
All qualifications must be met by the time of appointment.
