Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, a nationally recognized clinical and academic institution and the teaching hospital for Rush Medical and Nursing Colleges, invites applications for the position of Interventional Movement Disorders Clinical Faculty.
The Parkinson’s Disease and Movement Disorders Program at Rush University Medical Center is expanding its Interventional Movement Disorder Program, which oversees the management of patients evaluated for and receiving therapies such as Deep Brain Stimulation, Infusion therapies, and MRI-guided focused ultrasound. We are seeking an Assistant Professor to join twelve other full-time Movement Disorders specialists, focusing on Patient Care, Research, and Education.
The provider team includes three neurologists, two neurology physician assistants, one neurosurgeon, and one neurosurgery nurse practitioner across three campuses. Candidates should have a clinical and research interest in deep brain stimulation, focused ultrasound, and therapies for advanced disease states. Secondary interests in genetics, cognition, neuropsychiatric issues, physiology, imaging, or basic science are encouraged. The position is primarily clinical, with opportunities for research and educational initiatives.
Rush University holds several Centers of Excellence and is the most stable program in Chicagoland. Faculty rank will be commensurate with experience. Qualified candidates must have completed a fellowship, be Board Certified in Neurology, and be eligible for a faculty appointment at the Assistant Professor level or higher. This role is part of a strategic growth initiative, with the program serving approximately 6,000 patients annually with various movement disorders.
