Job summary

WVU Health System Medical Group (SMG) seeks a nephrologist to join our regional team and provide expert nephrology care across WVU Medicine hospitals and ambulatory clinics.

The ideal candidate will have an MD or DO, ACGME‑accredited Internal Medicine residency, Nephrology fellowship, and Board Certification or Board Eligible in Nephrology. Practice locations include Wheeling and other North Region sites with opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• Must have an MD or DO degree and be eligible to obtain a state medical license.
• Completed an ACGME‑accredited Internal Medicine residency, and completion of an ACGME‑accredited Nephrology fellowship.
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Nephrology.

Responsibilities

• Provide nephrology care across WVU Medicine hospitals and regional clinics as part of a Regional Team.
• Collaborate with other nephrology and hospital staff to deliver high-quality patient care across multiple locations including Wheeling, Reynolds Memorial, Wetzel County, Barnesville, Harrison Community and associated North Region ambulatory clinics.

WVU Health System Medical Group (SMG) seeks a nephrologist. The ideal candidate will possess excellent interpersonal, diagnostic, and clinical skills.

Qualifications

Successful candidates must have an MD or DO degree or foreign equivalent and be eligible to obtain a statemedical license. Applicants must have completed an ACGME‑accredited Internal Medicine residency, and completion of an ACGME‑accredited Nephrology fellowship. Must be Board Certified or Board Eligible in Nephrology.

This group functions as a ‘Regional Team’ and the successful candidate could be expected to practice at all locations as needed: Wheeling Hospital, Reynolds Memorial Hospital, Wetzel County Hospital, Barnesville Hospital, Harrison Community Hospital and all associated North Region Ambulatory clinics.

The WVU Health System Medical Group (SMG) formed in 2021 and has since grown to 900 physicians and advanced practice providers. Caregivers affiliated with the group practice in all 25 WVU Medicine hospitals and clinics. The group’s physicians serve in a variety of specialties and subspecialties – from primary care to advanced specialty care – and work in tandem with the WVU faculty practice plan.
