Position Overview

Essentia Health St. Mary’s Children’s Hospital (SMCH) and Pediatrics Clinics in Duluth, MN provide highly specialized, regional pediatric care. This role is part of a multidisciplinary pediatric team offering comprehensive general pediatric and subspecialty care, including access to Level III NICU, Level II Pediatric Trauma Center, pediatric oncology, cardiology, and behavioral health services.

Practice Specifics

• Team composition: 8 MDs, 4 NNPs, 1 Neonatal PA, 1 Neonatal Hospitalist and nursing staff.
• Level III NICU: 20 private rooms, 14 infants daily census, 330 admissions/year, capacity for dual occupancy.
• Level II Pediatric Trauma Center.
• In‑house physician coverage during the day, on‑call at night; APPs and RNs in-house 24/7.
• Active Neonatal Transport Team serving MN, WI and MI.
• Follow‑up Clinic for high‑risk patients one day per week; coverage 24/7 in‑house.
• Collaborative relationships with Level IV NICUs in the Twin Cities and with OB hospitals.

Compensation

$381,153 base salary or equal share of a compensation pool, with potential additional bonuses, quality incentives, and production‑based compensation.

Location

Duluth, MN – Westernmost tip of Lake Superior. Regional service area serves approximately 460,000 residents.
