Job summary

VitalCore Health Strategies seeks a part-time Physician at Sussex Correctional Institution in Georgetown, DE. The role emphasizes clinical leadership, supervision of staff, and ensuring delivery of essential care within a correctional setting.

The physician will collaborate with community providers, manage referrals, and maintain documentation and formulary adherence while upholding evidence-based standards and state regulations. An inclusive, professional environment is offered.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited medical school.
• Current DEA Registration.
• Fully licensed to practice in the state of employment.
• Preferred Board Certified.
• Must be fluent in English language (reading, writing, speaking).

Responsibilities

• Consult with community medical providers to resolve service delivery issues.
• Supervise clinical services by staff physicians and assistants.
• Provide on-call coverage.
• Review and approve clinical protocols, policies, and disaster plans.
• Manage referrals to outside facilities for quality and continuity of care.
• Sponsor PAs and NPs in line with state correctional facility laws.
• Serve as a resource to staff physicians and clinical personnel.
