Job summary

VitalCore Health Strategies seeks a Physician (MD/DO) for a PRN role at the Charles B. Webster Detention Center in Augusta, GA.

The Medical Director will supervise clinical services, ensure on-site emergency care, and uphold medical protocols within a correctional setting. The position requires a medical degree, current state license, DEA registration, and English fluency; board prefererence in Family/Internal Medicine with corrections experience.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited medical school.
• Fully licensed to practice in the state of employment.
• Current DEA Registration.
• Preferred board certified or board eligible in primary care (Family or Internal Medicine) with admin experience in corrections.
• Must be fluent in English (reading, writing, speaking).
• Must be a supportive team member and able to work collaboratively.

Responsibilities

• Supervise clinical services and staff at the facility.
• Provide on-call and emergency on-site care.
• Annually review and approve clinical protocols, policies, and disaster plans.
• Manage referrals to outside facilities for care quality and continuity.
• Sponsor Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioners as per state law.
• Maintain complete, timely patient medical records and documentation.
• Represent the healthcare program in meetings with officials and staff.
