Job summary

Jobtailor seeks a Physician Liaison to build relationships with physicians and strategic partners, visiting offices and hospitals to grow referrals while expanding community outreach across Maryland. The role collaborates with Marketing to develop regional collateral and executes integrated business development plans in a multi-geography environment.

In this position you will coordinate events, prepare presentations, analyze territory performance, and adapt plans as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Management, Healthcare, or related discipline.
  • Valid state Driver’s License for travel to satellite offices and offsite meetings.
  • 4+ years’ experience in oncology industry and/or medical outside sales.
  • Deep understanding of physician practice operations.
  • CRM experience and multi-geography collaboration in virtual settings.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain relationships with physicians and key strategic partners.
  • Visit physician offices and hospitals regularly to increase referrals.
  • Improve community outreach by partnering with local organizations and liaisons.
  • Plan, schedule, and attend dinners, meetings, and educational programs for Company physicians.
  • Adapt regional marketing plans to changes in physicians, insurance, and services.
  • Develop and implement regional collateral and marketing materials with Marketing.
  • Provide territory analysis to leadership and practice physicians.
  • Assist new physicians with practice-building and community introductions.
  • Evaluate and coordinate events where physicians present or moderate.
  • Research and coordinate local sponsorship opportunities.
  • Manage local marketing budgets, ads, and sponsorship campaigns.
  • Represent the Company and manage community outreach in the territory.
  • Prepare presentations using brochures, data, and reports.
  • Develop and maintain industry-contact databases in CRM.
  • Use data analysis tools to identify competitive info, call targets, and routing.
  • Promote new Company services and offerings.
  • Forecast market trends and submit status reports.
  • Prepare required status reports; participate in onboarding/training of new Liaisons after probation.
  • Follow HIPAA, safety, and patient-care regulations; ensure compliance with laws.

Job description

  • Establish and maintain relationships with physicians and key strategic partners
  • Visit physician offices and hospitals regularly to increase referrals
  • Improve community outreach by partnering with local organizations, community, and hospital liaisons
  • Plan, schedule, and attend dinners, meetings, and educational programs for Company physicians
  • Adapt regional marketing plans to changes in physicians, insurance, and treatment-center services
  • Develop and implement regional collateral and marketing materials with the Marketing Department
  • Provide territory analysis to referral base management leadership, regional directors, senior vice president of operations, and practice physicians
  • Assist new physicians with practice building by introducing them to key referrers and the local community
  • Evaluate, coordinate, and attend events where practice physicians present or moderate
  • Research and coordinate local sponsorship opportunities
  • Evaluate and oversee local marketing budgets, advertising placement, and sponsorship campaigns
  • Represent the Company and manage community outreach in the territory, including nonprofit organizations
  • Prepare presentations using brochures, data, and reports
  • Develop and maintain current industry-contact databases in CRM
  • Use data analysis tools to identify competitive information, call targets, and territory routing/planning
  • Promote new Company services and offerings
  • Forecast market trends and submit timely reports
  • Prepare required and requested status reports
  • May participate in onboarding and training new Physician Liaisons after the probationary period
  • Follow federal and state safety, HIPAA, and patient-care regulations
  • Comply with laws and regulations regarding patient care, patients’ rights, safety, billing, and collections, plus Company and departmental policies
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in Business, Marketing, Management, Healthcare, or related discipline is preferred
  • Valid state Driver’s License for travel to satellite offices and offsite meetings
  • Compliance with the company Driver Safety Operations and Motor Vehicle Records Check Policy is required
  • (4+) four years’ experience in oncology industry and/or medical outside sales
  • Deep understanding of physician practice operations
  • CRM experience
  • Experience working across multiple geographies in a virtual working environment, fully utilizing technology and communication tools
  • Proven ability to build and execute integrated business development plans across a geographic market
  • Proven ability to influence with and without authority and relate to a wide variety of stakeholders and constituents by adapting interpersonal styles
  • Ability to be flexible and adaptable in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work independently and as part of team
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills: PowerPoint, Word, Excel

  • Monday to Friday 8:00 AM–5:00 PM, with occasional weeknight and/or weekend events/programs
