Job summary

The Indian Health Service (IHS) seeks physicians to deliver patient‑centered care across acute, chronic, and preventive needs. You will collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure safe and coordinated care and may perform specialty procedures per training and credentials.

This role emphasizes teaching, mentorship, and participation in quality improvement initiatives, with a recruitment/relocation sign‑on bonus available.

Qualifications

• Degree: Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from a U.S. or Canada‑accredited school.
• Board Certification: Preferred, not required.
• Active medical license to practice in the U.S. or a territory.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert patient‑centered medical care including evaluation, diagnosis, treatment, and management of acute, chronic, and preventive health needs.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure safe, effective, and coordinated care.
• Perform specialty‑specific diagnostic, therapeutic, and/or surgical procedures per training and credentialing.
• Contribute to teaching, mentorship, and professional development of medical staff, students, and trainees.
• Participate in quality improvement, patient safety, and clinical innovation initiatives.
