Job summary

Mercy-GoHealth Urgent Care in Joplin, Missouri is seeking a dedicated Physician to join our urgent care team. The role includes treating patients across all ages, performing minor procedures, and collaborating with PA/NPs in a fast-paced setting.

You will work 8- or 12-hour shifts with a comprehensive benefits package, sign-on options, and opportunities for professional growth within a growing urgent care network.

Qualifications

• Board certification or eligibility in Family Medicine, Emergency Medicine, or Med/Peds.
• Active state medical license.
• 2–5 years post-residency, urgent care or emergency setting.
• Experience treating patients of all ages.
• Proficiency in reading EKGs and X-rays; suturing ability.

Responsibilities

• Examine and treat patients with acute conditions.
• Take histories and order diagnostic tests; make diagnoses and prescribe medications.
• Perform minor procedures and administer vaccinations.
• Document progress and coordinate follow-up care.
• Supervise PA/NPs; remote supervision or credentialing support when needed.
• Work 8- or 12-hour shifts in a fast-paced urgent care setting.

What We’re Looking For

• Board-certified or board-eligible in Family Medicine, Emergency Medicine, or Med/Peds
• Active state medical license
• 2–5 years of post-residency clinical experience, with at least 18 months in an urgent care or emergency medicine setting
• Experience treating patients across all age groups
• Proficiency in minor procedures such as suturing and splinting, and in reading EKGs and X-rays
• Strong communication and listening skills
• Comfort collaborating with advanced practice providers

Your Role

As a Physician at Mercy-GoHealth, you’ll independently provide a wide range of clinical services, including:

• Examining and treating patients with acute conditions
