Job summary

Barton Associates seeks an Internal Medicine physician for a 120-day assignment in Wisconsin, starting Oct 5, 2026. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM with a one-hour lunch, focusing on geriatric and preventative medicine and comprehensive patient care.

The ideal candidate will manage chronic conditions, provide preventive care and annual wellness visits, ensure accurate coding and charting, and work to reduce hospital admissions.

Qualifications

• Board certification in Family Medicine, Geriatric Medicine, or Internal Medicine.
• EMR: eClinicalWorks.
• Experience in geriatric and preventive primary care.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive geriatric and preventative primary care to a diverse patient panel.
• Manage cases including hypertension, diabetes, hyperlipidemia, CHF, CAD, COPD/asthma, CKD, thyroid disorders, osteoarthritis, chronic pain, dementia/cognitive decline, falls, mobility, osteoporosis, and acute illnesses/infections.
• Conduct preventive care and annual wellness visits.
• Perform medication management and specialized geriatric care.
• Ensure accurate and timely coding and charting of patient encounters.
• Focus on strategies to keep patients out of the hospital, particularly those at high and emerging risk.
