Job summary

Barton Associates is assisting a client in Kansas with an Internal Medicine Physician for a 120-day assignment beginning Oct 19, 2026. The physician will deliver comprehensive preventative geriatric primary care, focusing on keeping patients out of the hospital through proactive management and precise documentation.

Schedule is Monday–Friday, 8 AM–5 PM. The role requires board-certified expertise in Family Medicine, Geriatric Medicine, or Internal Medicine, and experience using eClinicalWorks.

Qualifications

• Board-certified in Family Medicine, Geriatric Medicine, or Internal Medicine.
• Experience in geriatrics and preventive primary care.
• Knowledge of comprehensive geriatric assessment and care planning.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive preventative geriatric primary care to reduce hospital admissions.
• Care for patients with accurate coding and detailed charting.
• Manage diverse caseload including high, emerging, and low-risk patients.

Job description

Our client in Kansas is seeking an Internal Medicine Physician for a 120-day assignment starting Oct 19, 2026. This role involves providing comprehensive preventative geriatric primary care, aiming to keep patients out of the hospital through meticulous patient management, accurate documentation, and tech-savvy engagement. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Provide comprehensive preventative geriatric primary care, aiming to minimize hospital admissions for the patient panel.
• Care for patients, ensuring detailed and accurate coding and charting.
• Manage a diverse caseload, including high, emerging, and low-risk patients.
• Address main cases such as hypertension, diabetes, hyperlipidemia, CHF, CAD, and other cardiovascular conditions.
• Treat conditions like COPD/asthma, CKD, thyroid disorders, osteoarthritis, and chronic pain.
• Manage dementia/cognitive decline, falls, mobility issues, and osteoporosis.
• Provide care for acute illnesses/infections, preventive care, and annual wellness visits.
• Oversee medication management and general geriatric care.
