Marshfield Medical Center - Park Falls is seeking a BC/BE Internal Medicine physician to join our rural health center in Park Falls, Wisconsin. The practice blends outpatient and inpatient care with a supportive team and access to diverse specialists.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with a care team including RNs, APPs and other specialties for comprehensive patient care.
• Support work-life balance with a 4-day work week and in-clinic/inpatient responsibilities as outlined.

Marshfield Medical Center - Park Falls is seeking a BC/BE Internal Medicine physician to join our well-established rural health center in Park Falls, Wisconsin. National Health Service Corps (NHSC) approved site.

• Traditional practice providing both outpatient and inpatient care
• Join a collegial group of 2 other physicians and 4 APPs
• Work closely with all departments and a well-supportive care team, including RNs who are wound care trained
• Multiple specialty providers frequently rotate onsite
• Call is a 1:3 rotation for the hospital; Nurse line is 1st call for outpatient (Phone call only)
• Clinic, dental center, and critical access hospital (10 beds) are located on the same campus
• Excellent work-life balance (support for job sharing)
• 4-day work week flexibility

Option A: Full Time Clinical Role

Option B: Full Time Clinical (80%) and Community Project Engagement (20%)

Protected Time Dedicated to a Community Health Project

Through a grant from the Orion Initiative, a grant program within the UW School of Medicine and Public Health, [provider] is able to offer 20% protected time for three years for a physician to lead a community health project.

That means 20% of the physician's time in this full-time position will be dedicated to a community health project, with the remaining 80% focused on clinical care. This is a unique opportunity for physicians who want to make an impact beyond the clinic walls while addressing a health need in the community.

A community health project is a project that:

• Serves the community where the rural hospital or clinic is located or a community within its service area
• Seeks to improve health or address a specific health condition or broader determinant of health, such as healthy lifestyles, disease prevention and control or environmental factors that negatively impact health
• Does not involve political campaign activity, lobbying or partisan advocacy

Nestled along the Flambeau River, Park Falls is centrally located in rural northern Wisconsin and serves as the regional health care hub. The wooded and relaxed setting of the Park Falls area is an outdoor paradise and has attracted visitors from southern Wisconsin and Illinois for many years. You won't have a hard time getting out in nature in Price County. There are year-round recreational activities like biking, fishing, ATVing in summer to skiing, snowmobiling and snowshoeing in winter. The quality of Wisconsin's educational system is well known, and Park Falls is no exception. The residents also have supported a large ice arena project, as well as a renowned junior golf program, which includes a junior golf course and clubhouse. Job Description

Internal Medicine Core Privileges include the ability to perform history and physical examinations, admit (if applicable to the setting), evaluate, diagnosis, treat and provide consultative services to adolescent and adult patients with common and complex illness, diseases and functional disorders of the circulatory, respiratory, endocrine, metabolic, musculoskeletal, hematopoietic, gastroenteric, and genitourinary systems.

Qualifications

• M.D. or D.O. degree.
• Experience can be demonstrated in one of the following ways and should be reflective of the privileges being requested:An applicant who has just completed residency shall provide their residency procedure log and a list of completed rotations, as applicable.
• ORAn applicant who is not applying directly out of a residency shall provide a quality profile from hospital(s) where he/she currently has privileges showing his/her clinical activity for the last 12 months, to include number of procedures performed-morbidity, mortality, infection rates and other complications. The applicant must be able to demonstrate active involvement of inpatient services to be at least 50 patients in the last 12 months.
• ORIf a quality profile is not available from the hospital(s) where the applicant currently has privileges, documentation of the applicant's clinic activity for the last 12 months is required. The applicant must be able to demonstrate active involvement in the care of 50 patients in clinical practice in the last 12 months.
• More education and experience may be required the more advanced the practice becomes.
