Summary
The Hospitalist Staff Physician is a direct patient care position responsible for operations within the Hospitalist Section of the Medicine Service. The staff physician collaborates with the Section Chief to define the mission and objectives of the section. In addition to clinical duties, experience with medical resident education and training activities is preferred.
Duties
The role includes serving as the attending physician on the hospitalist service or teaching service at Dayton VA, managing admissions, daily rounds, coordinating specialty consults, discharges, and post-acute care. Responsibilities also include transfer coordination with tertiary care centers and providing consultative services for inpatient non-medical services such as Surgery, Psychiatry, and Substance Abuse Recovery.

Requirements
Applicants must be U.S. citizens, possess a full, unrestricted medical license, have completed accredited residency training, and meet other basic employment conditions such as English proficiency, background checks, and physical exam clearance. Participation in VA's seasonal influenza vaccination program is mandatory.
