We are a 7-provider group delivering 24/7 care at a Joint Commission accredited facility serving Veterans across multiple clinics in the region.
Schedule includes 7on/7off 12-hour shifts or a 1pm-9pm swing shift with occasional night coverage; responsibilities include admissions, discharges, and ongoing inpatient care in a fully electronic environment.

We are an established hospitalist group of seven (7) which provides 24/7 inpatient care.
The Alexandria VA Health Care System, Alexandria, Louisiana is a Joint Commission accredited, complexity level 3 facility serving Veterans within 23 of Louisiana’s 64 parishes. The Alexandria VA Health Care System is located in Pineville, Louisiana with community based outpatient clinics (CBOCs) in Jennings, Lafayette, Fort Polk, and Natchitoches, Louisiana.
Schedule will vary as 7on/7off 12 hour shifts,or a40 hour per week swingshift approximately 1pm-9pm, Monday - Friday dependent upon coverage need. Would occasionally provide nocturnist coverage (1-2 times per year).
Census averages 8 12 patients daily.
ICU care is primarily provided by dedicated Intensivist but Hospitalist physician must be comfortable with basic ICU care and bedside procedures. Must be ACLS/BLS certified.
Main responsibilities are admissions, discharges and ongoing care of medical inpatients. Record Keeping is entirely electronic.
Additional responsibilities include medical consultations of non-medical patients, involvement with quality improvement and utilization review.

THE SALARY WILL BE DETERMINED BY A COMPENSATION PANEL OF PHYSICIANS COMMENSURATE WITH EXPERIENCE AND SPECIALTY AREA AND WILL BE APPROVED BY THE MEDICAL CENTER DIRECTOR.
