West Virginia University School of Medicine and the Department of Medicine, Section of Hospital Medicine, are seeking hospitalists for multiple full-time faculty positions (ranks: Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor). The primary locations are Morgantown, WV, and Fairmont, WV, with potential assignments at additional sites in West Virginia, Maryland, and Pennsylvania, which may require travel.
This position involves inpatient hospitalist service, with approximately 26 weeks of clinical duties annually. Night coverage primarily involves admissions and cross coverage. The role offers teaching opportunities and exposure to various specialty service lines, managing diverse patient cases.
The WVU Health System has expanded in specialty care, operates West Virginia's first multi-organ transplant center, and opened a new Children's Hospital in 2022. It has over 2,400 beds, 3,900 providers, and nearly 30,000 employees across a multi-state region.
