Job Description Specialist with expertise in the surgical, medical, and rehabilitative care of patients with diseases, injuries, and disorders affecting the hand, wrist, and forearm.
Qualifications M.D. or D.O. degree. Successful completion of a residency in Orthopedic Surgery, General Surgery, or Plastic Surgery, followed by a one-year fellowship in Hand Surgery Must hold an active medical license for each state in which the physician practices – either physically or virtually. Must have a DEA for each state in which the physician physically practices. Board Certified in Hand Surgery by the American Board of Surgery, American Board of Plastic Surgery, or the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery or equivalent (American Osteopathic Board, Royal College of Physicians & Surgeons of Canada). If physician is not board certified upon commencement of employment, they must achieve board certification as outlined in the privileging documents. Privileging documents and related credentialing requirements will supersede this job description in defining minimum qualifications, criteria, and scope of practice, if variation between documents exists.
