Job summary

Pay Range

The estimated base rate for this position is $0.00 - $0.00. Additional individual compensation may be available for this role through differentials, extra shift incentives, bonuses, etc. Base pay is only a portion of the total rewards package, and a comprehensive benefits program is available for qualifying positions.

Responsibilities

• Inpatient Medicine Attending (6 months)
  • Inpatient Attending must be an ABIM board‑certified internist/subspecialist
  • Active member of Huntington Hospital Medical Staff in good standing
  • Clinically active in direct patient care and supervision of patient care on house service
  • Direct supervision of resident medicine teams in the overall care and treatment of the patient
  • Provide timely and complete documentation as outlined by CMS Teaching Physician Documentation requirements
  • Provide didactic and hands‑on training of the trainee in terms of diagnosis, physical examination, interpretation of tests, procedures and proper documentation
  • Attend Morning Report, Mortality & Morbidity, Case Conference, and Grand Rounds
  • Report directly to Program Director
  • Oversee and teach transitions of care
• Outpatient Medicine Attending (Average Half Day Per Week)
  • Direct supervision of resident medicine residents in the overall care and treatment of the patient
  • Provide timely and complete documentation as outlined by CMS Teaching Physician Documentation requirements
  • Provide didactic and hands‑on training of the trainee in terms of diagnosis, physical examination, interpretation of tests, coordination of care, procedures and proper documentation
  • Participate in didactic teaching in the outpatient setting
  • Report directly to Outpatient Director Internal Medicine Core Faculty
• Internal Medicine Core Faculty
  • Available for residency recruitment including interviews and selection committee
  • Participation in mentorship of the residents
  • Assist in monitoring resident stress, including mental or emotional conditions inhibiting performance or learning and identifying substance‑related dysfunction
  • Participate on the Internal Medicine Clinical Competency Committee
  • Knowledgeable in current issues and problems of residency program
  • Assist in nurturing the scholar, scientist, teacher, and humanist in the residents
  • Contribute to the medical center through alignment with hospital‑wide goals and tactics
