Job description

A healthcare facility in Arizona is seeking a skilled Geriatric Physician for a 60-day locum tenens assignment starting 07 / 21 / 2025. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive geriatric care, focusing on preventative medicine to reduce hospital admissions among elderly patients. Working Monday through Friday from 8 : 00 AM to 5 : 00 PM, the physician will manage a diverse caseload including high-risk, emerging-risk, and low-risk patients. This role requires expertise in geriatric primary care, strong coding and charting skills, and proficiency with eClinicalWorks electronic health record system.

Responsibilities and Duties :

Provide comprehensive geriatric primary care with a focus on preventative medicine

Manage a diverse caseload of high-risk (15-20%), emerging-risk (10-20%), and low-risk (70-80%) patients

Conduct thorough patient evaluations and develop appropriate treatment plans

Implement strategies to reduce hospital admissions among elderly patients

Utilize eClinicalWorks electronic health record system for accurate documentation and coding

Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient care

Adhere to all facility policies, procedures, and safety protocols

Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current geriatric practices and treatments
