Job summary

Bassett Healthcare Network is seeking a General Surgeon with breast fellowship to join a 15-surgeon team and 6 advanced practice clinicians at a multi-center cancer care network.

The role features a 180-bed primary hospital with a Level III trauma center, DaVinci-equipped ORs, and no general surgery/trauma call. Travel for regional patient care is required, with a strong emphasis on multidisciplinary collaboration.

Qualifications

• MD/DO/MBBS degree required and board-eligible in General Surgery.
• Breast fellowship required; board certification or eligibility in USA preferred.
• New York medical license (or eligibility) required.
• BLS certification required; DEA registration.
• Strong teamwork and patient-centered approach in a multidisciplinary academic setting.

Responsibilities

• Join an established group of surgeons and advanced clinicians.
• Work at a Certified Cancer Treatment Center with multiple regional centers.
• Travel to provide regional patient care as needed.
• Utilize state-of-the-art operating rooms including DaVinci system.
• No general surgery/trauma call; share breast surgery call coverage.

Job Description & Responsibilities

• Join an established group of 15 Surgeons and 6 Advanced Practice Clinicians
• Certified Cancer Treatment Center based in Cooperstown with multiple regional centers for diagnostic and treatment options
• 180 Bed Primary Hospital with Level III Trauma Center
• Instant Referral Base provided by over 500 Network Clinicians
• Full Support Staff including PA's with Surgical Residents and Medical Student Interaction
• Travel required for regional patient care
• State of the Art OR's including DaVinci Surgical System
• No General Surgery/Trauma call requirement
• General Surgeons share call coverage for Breast Surgery patients
• Salary Range: $385,254-$442,409 plus performance-based compensation. This compensation range represents Bassett Healthcare's good faith belief of the compensation range at the time of this posting or advertisement. Salary is based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training, and fair market evaluation based on industry standards
• Bassett offers Physicians an incentive plan with no earnings cap. Individual performance and productivity can significantly enhance compensation with potential upside realized within the first year of employment.

Job Qualifications

• MD, DO or MBBS
• BC/BE in General Surgery - Breast Fellowship Required
• Completion of an accredited USA General Surgery residency, successful completion of which results in board eligibility
• New York medical license (or eligibility to obtain)
• BLS certification required
• DEA Required
• Strong teamwork, patient-centered approach, and ability to thrive in a multidisciplinary academic setting.
