The physician will maintain CME hours and coordinate care with other specialists, ensuring high-quality patient outcomes in a physician-led, member-owned group.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree required and board eligibility or board certification.
• Current TN medical license and DEA certificate required.
• Malpractice insurability and authority to provide services with insurers and hospitals as applicable.

Responsibilities

• Obtain health history and perform physical examinations.
• Request and evaluate lab tests.
• Diagnose, treat, and instruct staff in care implementation.
• Prescribe medications per state laws and practice guidelines.
• Arrange referrals for services not offered in the practice.
• Educate patients and families on medications and treatment instructions.
• Document activities, responses, and medications dispensed/prescribed.
• Supervise resident physicians.
• Perform patient procedures per protocols.
• Maintain Continuing Medical Education (CME) hours.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Obtain health history and perform physical examinations
• Request/Evaluate lab tests
• Diagnosis, direct treatment, and instruct staff in implementing care
• Prescribe medication in accordance with state statutes and professional practice guidelines
• Arrange referrals for services not offered within the practice
• Educate patients and families on medication and treatment instructions
• Document all activities/interventions, patient/family responses, medication dispensed/prescribed
• Supervise resident physicians
• Patient procedures relevant to protocols and procedures
• Maintain Continuing Medical Education (CME) hours

REQUIREMENTS

The Physician must hold a Doctor of Medicine Degree (M.D) or a Doctorate of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O), have completed residency and be Board Eligible or Board Certified with a current State of TN Medical License, DEA certificate, malpractice insurability and authority to provide medical services on behalf of all governmental and private insurers, health maintenance organizations, preferred provider organizations, self-insured employers, hospitals and any other organizations with which the group contracts to provide health care services.

Hospital call is required.
