Job description

Summary

A recruitment/relocation incentive may be offered to highly qualified candidate(s). The incumbent will serve as a Specialty Care Physician located within the Orlando VA Healthcare System (OVAHCS) assigned to Specialty Service. Assignments to other facilities within OVAHCS and travel to the site may be required to meet the needs of the service. This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP).

Duties
  • Manages chronic conditions, evaluates and treats inter-current medical conditions
  • Determines medical assessment and develops treatment plans according to accepted protocols
  • Documents notes and encounter forms in a timely manner in accordance with facility policy
  • Completes all administrative work in a timely fashion
  • Works Monday through Friday 8am-4:30pm (Work schedules determined and approved by the supervisor; incumbent may be required to work various shifts on a permanent or temporary basis based on facility/patient care needs)
Benefits and Compensation
  • Pay: Competitive salary, annual performance bonus, regular salary increases
  • Paid Time Off: 50-55 days of paid time off per year (26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays, possible 5 day paid absence for CME)
  • Retirement: Traditional federal pension (5 years vesting) and federal 401K with up to 5% VA contributions
  • Insurance: Federal health/vision/dental/term life/long‑term care (many federal insurance programs can be carried into retirement)
  • Licensure: One full and unrestricted license from any US State or territory
  • CME: Possible $1,000 per year reimbursement (must be full‑time with board certification)
  • Malpractice: Free liability protection with tail coverage provided
  • Contract: No Physician Employment Contract and no significant restriction on moonlighting
  • Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP): Student loan payment reimbursement program; award amount up to $200,000, eligibility period one to five years, applicant must meet eligibility requirements and submit application within four months of appointment; award amount and period determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after complete review
  • Recruitment Incentive (Sign‑on Bonus): A recruitment/relocation incentive may be offered to highly qualified candidate(s)
  • EDRP Authorized: Former EDRP participants are ineligible to apply for incentive
