Summary
This position is located at Indian Health Service Hospitals or Clinics under the Navajo Area Office. The primary purpose is to serve as a technical expert in Family Practice, providing diagnosis, care, and treatment for patients of all ages.

Note: This is an open continuous announcement; applicants will be referred when vacancies occur.

Duties

1. Practice medicine or provide direct services involving diagnostic, preventative, or therapeutic services in hospitals and clinics.
2. Prescribe or administer treatment, therapy, medication, vaccination, and other medical care.
3. Order, perform, interpret tests, and analyze records to diagnose conditions.
4. Monitor patient progress, re-evaluate treatments, and explain procedures and test results.
5. Coordinate with healthcare professionals like nurses, pharmacists, and social workers.

Requirements

• Probationary period may apply.
• U.S. Citizenship required.
• Selective Service Registration required for males born after 12/31/1959.
• Must not have committed disqualifying crimes (per Public Law 101-630).

Qualifications

Basic Requirements include a degree from an accredited medical school, valid medical license, and supervised clinical experience. For GS-15, 5 years of graduate training or equivalent experience in Family Medicine is required.
