Job summary

Essentia Health in Duluth, MN is seeking a patient-centered Endocrinologist to join a team of 5 physicians and 18 staff. The role combines outpatient care Monday–Friday 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. with inpatient diabetes coverage on a rotation that includes weekends.

Inpatient coverage is at St. Mary's Medical Center or Essentia Health-Duluth on the connected campus. Expect 10–12 patient visits per day and potential outreach opportunities. Board-certified or eligible in Endocrinology preferred.

Qualifications

• Diabetes technology experience including pumps, sensors, and meters.
• Endocrinology board-certified or eligible.
• Outpatient endocrine care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide primarily outpatient endocrine care, Mon–Fri, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.
• Participate in inpatient diabetes coverage at affiliated hospitals with weekend rotation.
• Support call rotation and possible outreach activities; manage a 10–12 patient/day volume.

• Inpatient coverage at St. Mary's Medical Center, a 330-bed tertiary care hospital, Level I Trauma Center -or- Essentia Health-Duluth, a 165-bed hospital - both located on the same connected campus.

• Capability to apply and analyze latest diabetes related devices including pumps, sensors, and meters
• Primarily outpatient practice: Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m.- 5:00 p.m.
• Some outreach possible
• Patient volume/day: 10-12
