Job summary

Geisinger Wyoming Valley is seeking physicians to join its Emergency Medicine and Pediatric Emergency Medicine teams across Northeast Pennsylvania, practicing at the top of their specialty within a physician-led health system.

This position offers opportunities for academic appointments, teaching, residency programs, leadership, quality improvement, and collaboration with EMS, pharmacists, APPs, and specialty teams in a Level I trauma center.

Qualifications

• Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (Required)
• Licensed Medical Doctor - State of Pennsylvania
• Strong patient care and procedural skills

Responsibilities

• Interview patients to obtain symptoms and medical histories, and perform/interpret diagnostic tests as needed, to design a treatment plan.
• Prescribe or administer medications as part of patient care.
• Prepare, maintain, and review records including histories, examinations, treatment plans and outcomes.
• Work in a clinical/office environment and comply with organizational policies and procedures.

Position Details

An emergency physician who has special qualifications to manage emergencies in infants and children. Position works on a shift-based schedule and does not accrue PTO or CME days. Interviews patients to obtain information such as symptoms, medical histories, and family histories. Performs and/or interprets diagnostic tests as needed. Diagnose and design a plan of treatment for injuries and/or illness. May prescribe or administer medications. Prepares, maintains, and reviews records that include patients' histories, examination findings, treatment plans, or outcomes. Work is typically performed in a clinical and office environment.
