Join a Collaborative, Expert-Led Pediatric Emergency Medicine Team at Geisinger. Geisinger is seeking Board Certified/Board Eligible Pediatric Emergency Medicine (PEM) Physicians to join our expanding team at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center (GWV) in Wilkes-Barre, PA. This is a unique opportunity to practice high-acuity pediatric emergency care while contributing to system-wide innovation, education, and leadership.
At Geisinger, you’ll work alongside a dedicated, multidisciplinary team of pediatric emergency professionals, including:
- Over 50 certified Pediatric Emergency Medicine nurses across the system
- In-house Pediatric Hospitalists and Neonatologists available 24/7
- Certified Child Life Specialists to support children and families during care
- Advanced practice providers (APPs) and emergency medicine physicians
- Fellowship-trained PEM physicians who lead initiatives in education, quality improvement, and clinical innovation
- Collaborative subspecialty support from nearly every pediatric medical and surgical specialty within our 90‑bed children’s hospital
- A culture of team-based care, continuous learning, and shared decision‑making
You’ll be part of a tight‑knit, mission‑driven group that values mentorship, professional development, and improving pediatric readiness across the region.
- 4‑bed pediatric emergency zone at GWV designed for infants, children, and teens
- 20% pediatric admission rate and 8% critical care rate in the ED
- Dual faculty appointment in Emergency Medicine & Pediatrics
- 1,544 clinical hours/year for optimal work‑life balance
- Multi‑site practice options in Wilkes‑Barre and Danville, PA
