Overview

This position is located at Martin Army Community Hospital, Fort Benning, GA.

Fort Benning is situated in the "Tri-Community" area, comprising Columbus, GA; Ft. Benning, GA; and Phenix City, AL. Columbus, Georgia's second-largest city, features attractions such as the 15-mile Chattahoochee RiverWalk trail, the State Theatre of Georgia, the Springer Opera House, the RiverCenter for performances, the National Civil War Naval Museum, the National Infantry Museum, the Columbus Museum, and the Historic District. The nearby Florida Gulf Shores and Blue Ridge Mountains are also accessible within a few hours' drive.

Responsibilities

As a Physician (Emergency Medicine), you will:

• Provide direct patient care, perform advanced diagnostic and life-saving procedures, and assess patients using history, physical examination, labs, electrocardiography, and diagnostic imaging to determine diagnoses and formulate care plans.
• Manage both emergent and non-emergent conditions, offering pediatric, adult, and geriatric advanced life support, pain management, resuscitation, wound care, and medication administration.
• Perform life-saving procedures such as intubation, defibrillation, cardioversion, tube thoracostomy, hemorrhage control, and others within the scope of emergency medicine.
• Manage medications and perform procedures like suturing, fracture reduction, or lumbar puncture as needed for non-emergent cases.
• Communicate effectively with patients and families, set treatment goals, provide updates, discharge instructions, and education.
• Facilitate patient access to ongoing care, provide referrals, and offer consultative opinions to colleagues.
• Maintain accurate records per regulations, collaborate with the medical team, and provide leadership during shifts and resuscitations.
• Participate in graduate medical education, mentoring trainees, and leading quality improvement initiatives.
• Adhere to infection control and safety protocols to ensure patient safety.

Qualifications
