Job summary

Brookings Health System is seeking an Emergency Medicine Physician to join a collaborative team delivering high-quality, patient-centered care in a state-of-the-art ED with three trauma rooms, eight exam rooms, and a dedicated triage area.

The role supports 12-hour shifts with a rotating schedule including every third weekend, alongside on-site specialists and experienced providers to serve roughly 11,000 annual ED visits and a strong quality program that emphasizes outcomes and continuous

Qualifications

• MD or DO licensed in South Dakota or eligible
• Board-certified or board-eligible in Family Medicine or Emergency Medicine
• DEA certification (state and federal)
• CPR, ACLS, ATLS and PALS certifications are required

Responsibilities

We’re seeking an Emergency Medicine Physician to join our dynamic team providing high‑quality, patient-centered emergency care. You’ll be part of a collaborative group serving a busy, well-equipped Emergency Department.

What You’ll Do

• Deliver full-spectrum emergency medical care in a state-of-the-art facility including three trauma rooms, eight exam rooms and a triage room.
• Work alongside a 5-provider group supported by:
• On-site specialists including Orthopedics, General Surgery, OB/GYN, Podiatry, and Urology
• Experienced advanced practice providers staffed daily
• Highly skilled RNs with TNCC, ACLS, and PALS certification
• Manage approximately 11,000 annual emergency room visits
• Participate in a robust quality program dedicated to continuous improvement and excellent outcomes

Schedule

• Twelve-hour shifts
• Rotating every 3rd weekend
• Mix of day and night shifts - night-shift preference can be accommodated
