Job Description
We are looking for a doctor to provide heart care services for patients both in the hospital and in the clinic.
Work Schedule
- You will work Monday to Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
- You will share on-call duties (2 doctors for every 1 doctor on call) with another heart specialist.
- Travel may be required between our locations in Detroit and Warren.
Responsibilities
- You will perform important procedures such as placing pacemakers and defibrillators and conducting heart surgeries to correct problems.
- During on-call weeks, you will visit patients in the hospital, with some visits done independently.
- You will build and manage a list of patients who come to us for care.
- You will work closely with an experienced heart doctor, nurse practitioners, heart surgeons, and a supportive team.
Care Environment
- You will help provide care for very ill patients at our trauma centers that are equipped for Level I and Level III emergencies.
- You will use a computer program called Cerner for patient records.
Qualifications Needed
- You must be board certified in Cardiology and Cardiac Electrophysiology (this is very important).
- You need to have completed specialized training in Cardiology and Cardiac Electrophysiology (also very important).
- It’s preferred that you have 2 to 3 years of working experience after your training.
- You must have or be able to get a medical license in Michigan (this is required).
- You must have certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and have a Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) registration (all required).
- You need to have a good history with no legal issues regarding malpractice or licenses (this is required).
- We prefer candidates who do not have another job or a long commute (more than 1 hour).
- You must get your DEA and CSR/CDS registrations before starting work.

- Complete fellowships in Cardiology and Cardiac Electrophysiology
- Preferably have 2 to 3 years of post-training experience.
