Job summary

Wellpath / Correct Care Solutions is seeking a Physician to assess and treat patients’ physical health in correctional clinical settings. Travel may be required depending on facility needs.

The role involves exams, coordinating referrals, and educating patients within a multidisciplinary team. Requires a Medical Doctorate (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) and state licensure, with 2 years post-residency clinical experience; psychiatric experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Medical doctorate (MD) or doctor of osteopathy (DO) from an accredited university
• Licensed in the state of employment
• Current DEA and applicable certifications
• Board certified or eligible in internal or family medicine

Responsibilities

• Assess patients’ physical health through examinations and diagnostic procedures
• Provide and oversee documentation, outside referrals, consultations, and follow-ups
• Perform minor medical procedures
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary staff and provide education to patients and families

How you make a difference

The Physician is responsible for assessing and treating patients’ physical health including conducting exams and coordinating outside referrals. This position performs minor procedures and collaborates with psychiatric and interdisciplinary staff to ensure integrated care. Physicians also educate patients, ensure compliance with safety procedures, and tailor treatment plans to the patient's age and development. Travel may be required depending on facility needs, and work is in correctional clinical settings.
