Job summary

Wellpath / Correct Care Solutions is seeking a Physician to join our team in Pennsylvania. The role involves assessing and treating patients’ physical health, overseeing clinical activities, and providing education to patients. The ideal candidate will have a medical doctorate and two years of clinical experience, preferably in psychiatry.

Qualifications

  • Two years of post-residency clinical experience in an outpatient/inpatient setting.
  • Experience in psychiatric care preferred.
  • Valid state medical license and DEA certification.

Responsibilities

  • Assess patients’ physical health through examinations and diagnostic procedures.
  • Provide documentation and outside referrals for patients.
  • Offer clinical oversight to ARNPs and review their documentation.
  • Perform minor medical procedures like sutures, IV placement.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary staff and educate patients.

How you make a difference

The Physician is responsible for assessing and treating patients’ physical health including conducting exams and coordinating outside referrals. The role includes oversight of clinical care activities provided by ARNPs, documentation, and after-hours on-call responsibilities. This position performs minor procedures and collaborates with psychiatric and interdisciplinary staff to ensure integrated care. Physicians also educate patients and families, ensure compliance with safety procedures, and tailor treatment plans to the patient's age and development. Travel may be required depending on facility needs, and work is primarily in correctional or clinical settings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess patients’ physical health through examinations and diagnostic procedures

  • Offer clinical oversight and support to ARNPs, including care provision and documentation review
  • Perform minor medical procedures such as sutures, IV placement, and lumbar puncture
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary staff and provide education to patients and families
Qualifications & Requirements

EDUCATION

  • Medical doctorate (MD) or doctor of osteopathy (DO) from an accredited university

EXPERIENCE

  • Two (2) years post-residency clinical experience in an outpatient/inpatient setting
  • Psychiatric experience preferred

LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS

  • Licensed in the state of employment
  • Current Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and applicable certifications
  • Board certified or eligible in internal or family medicine
