Job summary

Wellpath / Correct Care Solutions seeks a Physician to assess and treat patients in correctional clinical settings. You will conduct exams, coordinate outside referrals, and perform minor procedures, collaborating with psychiatric and interdisciplinary staff for integrated care.

Requirements include an MD/DO, 2 years post-residency experience, state licensure, DEA certification, and board certification or eligibility in internal or family medicine. US residency is required.

Qualifications

• MD/DO from an accredited university.
• Two (2) years post-residency clinical experience in an outpatient/inpatient setting.
• Psychiatric experience preferred.
• Licensed in the state of employment and DEA registered.
• Board certified or eligible in internal or family medicine.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients’ physical health through examinations and diagnostic procedures.
• Provide and oversee documentation, outside referrals, consultations, and follow-ups.
• Perform minor medical procedures.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary staff and provide education to patients and families.

How you make a difference

The Physician is responsible for assessing and treating patients’ physical health including conducting exams and coordinating outside referrals. This position performs minor procedures and collaborates with psychiatric and interdisciplinary staff to ensure integrated care. Physicians also educate patients, ensure compliance with safety procedures, and tailor treatment plans to the patient's age and development. Travel may be required depending on facility needs, and work is in correctional clinical settings.

Qualifications & Requirements

EDUCATION

Medical doctorate (MD) or doctor of osteopathy (DO) from an accredited university

EXPERIENCE

Two (2) years post-residency clinical experience in an outpatient/inpatient setting

Psychiatric experience preferred

LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS

Licensed in the state of employment

Current Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and applicable certifications

Board certified or eligible in internal or family medicine
