Job summary

Boston Children's Hospital seeks a Physician Coding Supervisor to oversee the Physician Coding team, ensuring coding quality and compliant reimbursement. The role involves training, audits, and driving workflow improvements while staying current on regulations.

The position requires CPC certification and a minimum of 5 years in physician coding, with supervision responsibilities and strong communication skills. This is a remote role with typical M-F hours and competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of related experience in physician coding.
• Experience with coding validation and/or compliance review in a specialty or multi-specialty setting.
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy/physiology, ICD-9/10-CM, CPT-4, and coding regulations.
• Advanced knowledge of CCI, LCD, and CMS P-RVU.
• Strong communication and computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and manage daily work of Coding Analysts, including scheduling, assignments, workflow, and performance.
• Oversee physician coding chart reviews, coding validation, documentation, and compliance.
• Develop and provide coding/reimbursement training and education.
• Monitor coding quality, data integrity, and compliant reimbursement.
• Identify process and revenue improvement opportunities.
• Work with other departments to resolve coding and billing issues.
• Stay current on coding, reimbursement, regulatory, and compliance requirements.
• Participate in hiring, performance management, goal setting, and staff development.
• Assist with audits, special projects, and operational improvement initiatives.

The posted pay range is Boston Children's reasonable and good-faith expectation for this pay at the time of posting.
