Our Coding Educators play a critical role at Banner Health. Join our team of forward-looking Physician Coding Educators who support Physician Practices and Profee Coding Teams. In this role, you will provide coaching to our Physician Coding team and Providers. Experience in E/M, Family Practice, Internal Medicine, and Risk Adjustment coding is required, along with current Certification in Coding through AHIMA or AAPC.

Schedule: Monday - Friday, flexible scheduling, 8-hour shifts.
Position Type: Primarily remote, may require offsite travel. Banner Health provides equipment for remote work.

Position Summary: This role involves developing education/training materials, conducting training for Health Information Management staff and physicians/providers, and providing technical staff training on medical records systems. It includes creating training materials, conducting new hire assessments, providing ongoing education, and regulatory updates.
Core Functions:
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in business, healthcare administration, or related field, plus advanced training in Health Information Management and adult learning principles. Certifications such as RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CPC, or CCS-P are required, with experience in healthcare information management. Must have excellent communication, interpersonal, and instructional skills, and proficiency in office and healthcare software.
Preferred Qualifications: Previous training/teaching experience, customer service education experience, creativity, and adult learning knowledge.
