Our Coding Educators play a critical role at Banner Health. Join our team of forward-looking Physician Coding Educators who support our Physician Practices and Profee Coding Teams. In this role, you will provide valuable coaching to our Physician Coding team, as well as our Providers. Experience in E/M and Family Practice, Internal Medicine and Risk Adjustment coding is a must, as well as current Certification in Coding through AHIMA or AAPC (as seen in the qualifications below).

Schedule: Monday - Friday, flexible scheduling, 8-hour shifts.
Primarily remote position, may require offsite travel.

This position involves developing education/training materials, conducting and coordinating training and development of Health Information Management staff and other Banner staff, including physicians/providers, and providing technical staff training on information systems components of the medical records database system. Responsibilities include creating and maintaining training materials, conducting new hire assessments, department orientation, and ongoing education including regulatory updates.
- Bachelor's degree in business, healthcare administration, or related field, with advanced training in Health Information Management and adult learning principles.
- Certification: RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CPC, or CCS-P, with active status in AHIMA or AAPC.
- Over three years of healthcare information management experience.
- Knowledge of medical record documentation, regulations, and laws.
- Strong educational and training skills, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in office and presentation software, and healthcare applications.
- Prior training/teaching and customer service education experience.
- Creativity and knowledge of adult learning principles.
- Additional related education or experience.
