City of Hope Phoenix has launched a national search for Chief of Surgery who will provide leadership to our department of surgery in clinical, research, and education areas. The next Chief of Surgery will be a highly regarded physician with a collaborative, team-based leadership style, and the ability to leverage and grow our existing, nationally recognized surgical program. The Chief must also be operationally savvy, with the business acumen and cultural sensitivity to lead within a complex, matrixed organization.
The department of surgery at City of Hope Phoenix is dedicated to the surgical care of cancer patients. The department includes 10 providers across a variety of surgical services, including breast, gastrointestinal, gynecology, thoracic, urology, and general surgery. The Chief position reports directly to the Chief Clinical Officer at City of Hope Phoenix Alan Bryce, M.D.
The ideal candidate will be a respected surgeon with a distinguished national reputation. Candidates will be considered regardless of surgical specialization. The Chief should exhibit a commitment to the advancement of patient care, quality, financial, budgetary, compliance, and regulatory efficiencies, and provide leadership and vision for the Department's clinical services in an integrated academic medical center environment. Mentoring junior faculty is an essential part of this position. Academic rank will be commensurate with experience.
