Job summary

Bayhealth Medical Center in Dover, DE seeks a Physician Charge Capture Analyst to optimize physician revenue cycle processes. This role uses Epic to reconcile charges with appointments, develops scorecards, and analyzes large datasets to improve encounter close and billing accuracy.

Strong communication with practice leadership is essential. The ideal candidate has 5 years in physician revenue cycle analytics and is detail-oriented, with the ability to translate data into actionable leadership

Qualifications

• Five (5) years Physician Revenue Cycle Experience.
• Epic experience is required.
• Ability to develop reports and scorecards to monitor charge capture performance.

Responsibilities

• Reconciles charges against appointments and scheduled encounters.
• Tracks trends and validates all charge-related issues by practice and clinician.
• Compares Epic encounter lists to monthly invoices for locum clinicians to ensure charges are captured and billed.
• Develops and produces a quarterly charge capture scorecard at the practice level.
• Provides coding change reports and monitors adherence to clinical notification policy.
• Produces monthly report by clinician of number and type of encounters.
• All other duties as assigned within the scope of job responsibilities.

SALARY RANGE: 53,476.80 - 80,204.80 YEARLY

General Summary:

The Physician Charge Capture Analyst is responsible for reconciling patient charges to support timely and accurate billing of physician service revenue for all employed and contracted (locum) physicians. Utilizes reports from Epic comparing charges to appointments/scheduled services. Develop reports and scorecards in Epic to monitor charge capture performance at the practice level as needed to track overall encounter close and charge capture performance. Analyzes large datasets to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for revenue enhancement. Supports analytics with account review findings to identify root cause and validate issues.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented and can turn data into actionable information providing reporting in a timely manner to leadership to support business decisions and prioritize needs. Epic experience is required along with a willingness to continuously develop and acquire new technical skills. Must be able to communicate effectively with stakeholders to effectively drive accountability in physician charge capture and reconciliation processes.

Responsibilities:

• Reconciles charges against appointments and scheduled encounters. Compares findings against open encounter reports to identify missing charges and works with practice leadership to have encounters closed and charges entered.
• Tracks, trends, and validates all charge related issues by practice and clinician. Determines root cause of delays/missing charges and communicates with respective leadership supporting mitigation efforts.
• For locum clinicians compares encounter list from Epic to monthly invoices to ensure all charges have been captured and billed. Identifying revenue mismatches based on cost center charges are attached to ensuring contracted physician revenue is billed and charged under the current cost center based on practice designation with CMS.
• Develops and produces a quarterly charge capture scorecard at the practice level for all practice locations.
• Provides coding change reports and monitors adherence to clinical notification policy.
• Produces monthly report by clinician of number and type of encounters.
• All other duties as assigned within the scope and range of job responsibilities.
