Job summary

Wellstar Health System is seeking a BE/BC Breast Surgeon to join a well-established Comprehensive Breast Health Program with an existing referral base and strong community need.

The candidate should be proficient in the latest cancer surgery protocols, including minimally invasive techniques, with fellowship training in breast surgery and Georgia medical licensure. The position offers a robust clinical program and opportunities for education and leadership.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
• Board Certified/Board Eligible with Georgia Medical License.
• Fellowship trained in breast surgery.
• Experience in ultrasound, and ultrasound biopsy.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent patient care in ambulatory and inpatient settings.
• Perform mastectomies, lumpectomies, excisional biopsies, axillary surgery including sentinel lymph node biopsy and axillary dissection, oncoplastic closures.
• Document clinical notes in the electronic medical record (Epic).
• Occasionally provide education to residents and medical students.
• Provide appropriate call coverage.
• Read breast ultrasounds.

Wellstar Medical Group is actively seeking a BE/BC Breast Surgeon

to join a well-established practice and comprehensive program with an existing referral base and strong community need. Candidates should be competent in the latest surgical protocols in the treatment of cancer, including minimally invasive surgery, possess excellent clinical skills, and a dedication to providing quality and compassionate patient centered care.

The selected candidate will be a key team member for Wellstar’s Comprehensive Breast Health Program. The cancer program has CoC (Commission on Cancer) from the American College of Surgeons.

Responsibilities:

The selected candidate will:

• Provide excellent patient care in the ambulatory and inpatient settings.
• Perform surgical procedures include mastectomies, lumpectomies, excisional biopsies, axillary surgery including sentinel lymph node biopsy and axillary dissection, oncoplastic closures
• Document clinical notes in the electronic medical record. Wellstar currently uses Epic.
• At times have the opportunity to provide education to residents and medical students
• Provide appropriate call coverage
• Occasionally perform and consistently read breast ultrasounds
