Baptist Health - Central Alabama is seeking a full-time Physician Billing Assistant. This role involves assisting in the Physician Billing Office with various administrative and clerical tasks related to the billing revenue cycle.
The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma and at least one year of experience in a healthcare environment, alongside excellent communication and computer skills. Responsibilities include managing patient claims, organizing departmental tasks, and ensuring all billing paperwork is processed accurately.

Physician Billing Assistant shall assist in the Physician Billing Office (PBO) with administrative and clerical tasks associated with the physician billing revenue cycle. This individual will be responsible for sending out secondary claims, filing/scanning daily batches, sorting and distributing the incoming and outbound mail, and sending out patient itemized statements. Additionally, the Assistant shall assist with the refund process responsible for entering check registers and mailing payments. This individual will be responsible for coordinating the department calendar, ordering and maintaining office supplies, and other administrative duties as assigned. This position may have additional duties assigned that are within the scope of the role.
High School diploma or equivalent required. Minimum 1 year of experience in physician practice or health care environment preferred.

Requires occasional lifting or carrying up to 15 pounds and pushing/pulling up to 150 pounds.
