Job summary

The MetroHealth System in Cleveland, OH seeks a Physician Assistant (General Surgery) to join our surgical team across main hospital and satellites. You will deliver direct patient care in collaboration with surgeons, provide pre-, intra-, and post-operative services, and support in-patient management and operating room assistance.

Required credentials include Ohio PA licensure, graduation from an accredited PA program, and surgical assisting certification or military equivalent.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited Physician's Assistant program.
• Current licensure in the State of Ohio.
• Graduate of an approved surgical assisting program or related certification.
• Demonstrated proficiency in sterile technique and aseptic practices.
• Knowledge of medications used in outpatient surgical environments.

• Ability to meet clinical privileges within 90 days of placement.

Physician Assistant -General Surgery

Physician Assistants

General Surgery

Multiple locations including the main hospital and satellites (west and south of Cleveland)

In collaboration with a physician, these professionals will deliver direct patient care, including identification and management of health problems and/or referral for consultation to other health care providers. Offering pre-, intra-, and post-operative care, these individuals will be responsible primarily for in patient management of surgical patients and assisting in the OR.

Additional Responsibilities Include

Managing complex illnesses and delivering specialty care.

Functioning in a supportive role to provide optimum care to surgical patients.

Upholding the standards of the system-wide customer service program.

Required Credentials

What you will need to succeed:

Graduation from an accredited Physician's Assistant program.

Current licensure in the State of Ohio.

Graduate of an approved formal training program for surgical assisting or appropriate related certification from an approved military surgical assisting program.

Demonstrated proficiency in the use of sterile technique and aseptic practices

Knowledge of medications used within an outpatient surgical environment.

Demonstrated knowledge of suture material and different types of skin stitches.

Ability to prioritize work assignments and maintain flexibility in a fast-paced environment.

Ability to meet the requirements/qualifications for clinical privileges with The MetroHealth System within 90 days of placement within position and maintain privileges.
