Qualifications

• Experience in colorectal surgery is preferred; new graduates will be considered.
• Comfortable providing surgical first-assist; familiarity with Robotic and Laparoscopic cases is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Rounding on hospital patients and seeing patients in clinic.
• Providing first-assist in the operating room for colorectal surgeries.
• Managing initial patient contact through to post-op follow-ups.

An excellent opportunity for a dynamic Physician Assistant with Colon and Rectal Surgical experience to join our highly trained multidisciplinary surgical team at Banner Thunderbird Medical Center in Glendale, AZ. Our APP will round on patients in the hospital, see patients in clinic and provide surgical first-assist in the OR. Qualified candidates must be autonomous, have an eagerness to learn, excellent work ethic and the ability to work in a collaborative environment; one that thrives in a highly integrated and innovative setting; and a desire to focus on patient excellence.

Qualifications:

- Board Certification as a Physician Assistant

- Prescribing privileges including DEA license for controlled substance.

- Current CPR, BLS, and ACLS

- Colorectal surgery/procedural experience strongly preferred; however, new graduates with General Surgery knowledge are encouraged to apply.

- Comfortability providing First-Assist; familiarity with Robotic, Laparoscopic and Open cases.

Practice Details:

Full-time | Monday - Thursday 8 AM - 4PM; Friday 8 AM - 1PM

Clinical/OR Practice

Call Required: Practice Call; No Hospital Call

Provide care from the initial patient point of contact to pre-surgical requirements, and post-op follow-ups.

Banner Thunderbird Medical Center (BTMC) has served the Northwest Valley for more than 25 years with an unrelenting focus on excellent patient care. A recently completed $290 million expansion highlights BTMC's Level I Adult Trauma Center for patients fifteen and older. Designation as an Arizona Level I Trauma Center means Banner Thunderbird can provide total care for every aspect of injury, reducing the need to transfer patients outside the area for life-saving treatment.
