Job summary

The Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) invites applications for a Physician Assistant at the Abilene State Supported Living Center. You will provide medical care to residents, perform physicals, develop care plans, and coordinate with a multidisciplinary team in a not-telework environment.

You must be licensed as a PA in Texas, hold DEA registration and an NPI, and work under the supervision of a Medical Director.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant program with a degree as a Physician Assistant.
• Must be licensed as a Physician Assistant by the State of Texas, and must practice under supervision.
• Must have current DEA registration and possess an NPI; enrollment as Medicare/Medicaid provider may be required.

Responsibilities

• Provide medical services, diagnosis and treatment to a designated caseload under physician supervision.
• Perform complete physicals, order tests, interpret results, and manage a care plan.
• Prescribe medications as appropriate and document care thoroughly.
• Coordinate with interdisciplinary team and families for care planning.
• Assist in disaster response or COOP activities as needed.
