Job summary

NewYork-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital is seeking a Robotic Surgery Physician Assistant to support a range of surgical specialties with intraoperative bedside assistance and postoperative care. You’ll work closely with leading surgeons in a high-demand environment to deliver patient-centered care.

The role requires robotic surgery experience, NY licensure, and NCCPA certification, with on-site work and a strong emphasis on collaboration and clinical excellence.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of experience in robotic surgery.
• Experience with Intuitive Surgical systems (Xi, X, and/or dV5).
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
• New York State PA licensure and NCCPA certification are required.

Responsibilities

• Provide intraoperative bedside assistance during robotic procedures.
• Rounding with surgical teams to evaluate and manage patients.
• Write progress notes and place orders.
• Perform bedside procedures as needed.
• Deliver coordinated, high-quality care across the patient journey.

Position Overview

Robotic Surgery Physician Assistants support a wide range of surgical specialties, including:

• General Surgery
• Colorectal
• Bariatrics
• Gynecology
• Urology

In this role, you will function as a key member of the surgical care team, with responsibilities that include:

• Providing intraoperative bedside assistance during robotic procedures
• Rounding with surgical teams to evaluate and manage patients
• Writing progress notes and placing orders
• Performing bedside procedures as needed
• Delivering coordinated, high-quality care across the patient journey

You will serve as a frontline provider, ensuring continuity of care for surgical patients throughout their hospital stay.

Schedule

• Monday–Friday, flexible shift coverage

Preferred Qualifications

• At least 1 year of experience in surgical inpatient medicine

Required Qualifications

• At least 1 year of experience in robotic surgery
• Experience with Intuitive Surgical systems (Xi, X, and/or dV5)

Licensing & Certifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program
• Current New York State PA licensure
• NCCPA certification
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications
• NYS Infection Control certification
• DEA registration with NYS Opioid Prescriber Training compliance
