Job summary

Pediatrix is seeking a Per Diem Physician Assistant for Denver, CO to provide Level II/III NICU coverage on 24-hour in-house shifts. The role includes attending high-risk deliveries, rounding newborns, and offering obstetrics/gynecology support as needed.

The position offers per diem pay starting at $65 per hour, travel expenses for those outside commuting distance, malpractice tail coverage, and an employee assistance program. Prior NICU-level experience is required.

Qualifications

• Current NCCPA certification.
• Master’s degree completed.
• CO active license or eligibility required.
• Minimum 3 years of postgraduate NICU (Level II/III) experience.
• Hands-on Obstetrics/Gynecology and/or Neonatology in hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Level II/III NICU coverage on a 24-hour in-house NICU shift.
• Attend high-risk deliveries and round newborns; assist in Level III NICU as needed.
• Provide downtime coverage to a 23-hour NNP for 2–4 hours in the afternoon.

Responsibilities

• Level II and Level III NICU Coverage on a 24‑hour in‑house NICU shift
• Optionally 12‑hour shift for NBN/Delivery in the 7am–7pm window, attend all high‑risk deliveries, round newborns, and assist in Level III NICU as needed
• Provide downtime coverage to a 23‑hour NNP in Level III NICU for 2–4 hours in the afternoon

Qualifications

• Current certification through the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
• Minimum of a Master’s Degree
• CO active license or eligibility to obtain a CO license
• Minimum of 3 years of postgraduate experience in Level II/Level III NICU (new graduates not eligible)
• Hands‑on experience in Obstetrics/Gynecology and/or Neonatology in a hospital setting

Compensation & Benefits

• Pay starts at $65.00 per hour (W-2 position)
• Per Diem staff travel expenses covered (round‑trip flight, rental car, or mileage & lodging) for those who reside outside a commutable distance from the practice
