Job summary

Boise VA Healthcare System is seeking a Physician Assistant (Primary Care) to provide direct patient care within the Patient Aligned Care Team (PACT) model, collaborating with an RN, LPN/MA, and scheduler to manage a panel of Veterans.

The role emphasizes evidence-based medicine, preventive care, and use of the electronic health record, with on-site duty Monday through Friday 8:00am–4:30pm; telework is not available.

Responsibilities

• Clinical Practice & Patient Care: Performs histories and physicals on outpatients.
• Provides ongoing outpatient and inpatient care for assigned patients.
• Prescribes medications within defined scope of practice.
• Orders diagnostic studies (labs, x-rays, ECGs).
• Reviews need for and orders health promotion and disease prevention activities.
• Initiates and expedites requests for consultations and tests.
• Educates patients and families in preventive care and treatment use.
