Job summary

Physician Affiliate Group of New York (PAGNY) joins NYC Health + Hospitals/South Brooklyn Health to add a Physician Assistant - Podiatry. The PA will provide surgical care, evaluate patients, and assist in the OR within a bustling hospital system in Brooklyn.

Current NYS PA registration and NCCPA certification are required; surgical/orthopedic experience is preferred, with encouragement for new grads demonstrating strong clinical rotations.

Qualifications

  • Current NYS registration as a Physician Assistant.
  • Current NCCPA certification.
  • Surgical/Orthopedic experience preferred; motivated new graduates with strong surgical rotations encouraged.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive surgical care in collaboration with attending surgeons and the multidisciplinary healthcare team.
  • Provide inpatient and outpatient surgical care.
  • Evaluate and manage podiatric surgical patients.
  • Assist in the operating room and perform peri-operative assessments.
  • Participate in ED consultations, coordinate discharge planning, and provide cross-coverage of other surgical services as needed.

South Brooklyn Health is a redesigned health care campus featuring the new 11-floor Ruth Bader Ginsburg Hospital which provides emergency care, modern labor and delivery suites, and state-of-the-art surgical services. The new Health & Wellness Institute offers outpatient services from primary and preventive care to specialty services for children and adults, all designed to keep our community healthy. Opportunity Details

Qualifications
  • Current NYS registration as a Physician Assistant.
  • Current certification issued by the NCCPA.
  • Surgical/Orthopedic experience preferred; motivated new graduates with strong surgical clinical rotations are encouraged to apply.
Wages and Benefits include:

Annual Base Salary: $131,127* - $174,836* based on 40-hour work week and years of State Licensure.

The annual total value of compensation package is estimated at $144,239** - $192,319**, which includes the baseline salary, 401(k) contribution and other factors as set forth below:

  • 401(k) Company Contribution (subject to IRS contribution limits):
  • Employees are immediately vested in a 3% company contribution of base earnings. No employee match is required.
  • After one year of service, employees receive an additional 7% company contribution of base earnings. No employee match is required.
  • Annual Continuing Medical Education (CME) Reimbursement.
  • Generous Annual Paid Time Off (PTO): Vacation, Sick, Holiday, and CME days.
  • Medical, Prescription, and Dental Coverage: Top tier plans with employee contributions significantly below market rates.
