Job summary

Physician Affiliate Group of New York (PAGNY) is expanding its team with a Physician Assistant - Medicine at NYC Health + Hospitals/South Brooklyn Health. The PA will gather medical histories, conduct physical exams, order tests, and convey results to supervising physicians, coordinating care across subspecialists.

Qualified applicants hold a NYS PA license and NCCPA certification, with a comprehensive compensation package including base salary, retirement contributions, CME, PTO, and robust

Qualifications

  • Current New York State registration as a Physician Assistant.
  • Current NCCPA certification.

Responsibilities

  • Obtain comprehensive medical histories, perform thorough physical examinations, and document findings.
  • Order, perform, and interpret routine diagnostic tests, including lab studies, imaging, and EKGs.
  • Monitor patient status and promptly communicate significant changes to the supervising physician.
  • Perform common bedside procedures (injections, IV access, NG and catheterization).
  • Conduct daily patient rounds, assess progress, and document evaluations and plans in the medical record.
  • Coordinate patient care by consulting and referring to subspecialists as needed.

South Brooklyn Health is a redesigned health care campus featuring the new 11-floor Ruth Bader Ginsburg Hospital which provides emergency care, modern labor and delivery suites, and state-of-the-art surgical services. The new Health & Wellness Institute offers outpatient services from primary and preventive care to specialty services for children and adults, all designed to keep our community healthy. The hospital maintains a strong academic affiliation with SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University and NYIT College of Osteopathic Medicine to maintain its high standards of healthcare delivery.

Opportunity Details

  • Conduct daily patient rounds, assess clinical progress, and document evaluations and treatment plans in the medical record.
  • Coordinate patient care by consulting and referring to appropriate medical and surgical subspecialists, as needed.
Qualifications
  • Current New York State registration as a Physician Assistant
  • Current certification issued by the NCCPA
Wages and Benefits include

Annual Base Salary: $131,127* - $174,836* based on 40-hour work week and years of State Licensure.

The annual total value of compensation package is estimated at $144,239** - $192,319**, which includes the baseline salary, 401(k) contribution and other factors as set forth below:

  • 401(k) Company Contribution (subject to IRS contribution limits):
    • Employees are immediately vested in a 3% company contribution of base earnings. No employee match is required.
    • After one year of service, employees receive an additional 7% company contribution of base earnings. No employee match is required.
  • Annual Continuing Medical Education (CME) Reimbursement.
  • Generous Annual Paid Time Off (PTO): Vacation, Sick, Holiday, and CME days.
  • Medical, Prescription, and Dental Coverage: Top-tier plans with employee contributions significantly below market rates.
