Job summary

The University of Illinois Chicago Division of Plastic, Reconstructive and Cosmetic Surgery in Chicago, IL is seeking a Physician Assistant. The PA will work under the supervision of a Plastic Surgeon to provide pre-, intra-, and post-surgical care, patient evaluation, and coordinating multidisciplinary care for plastic surgery patients.

Minimum qualifications include graduation from an accredited PA program, Illinois PA license, BLS, handling controlled substances, and NCCPA certification.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited PA program.
• Current Illinois PA license is required.
• BLS certification is required.
• Controlled substance licensure is required.
• National NCCPA certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Works collaboratively with other providers in the care of patients.
• Performs an accurate history and physical examination of patients and develops care plans.
• Performs procedures according to scope of privileges and interprets tests and therapies.
• Prescribes medications, diets, supplies, and other home health aids per privileges.
• Maintains clear, accurate documentation in the medical record.
• Leads multidisciplinary teams to provide integrated patient care.
