Montefiore Medical Center is hiring a Per Diem Physician Assistant for the ED - PA Services in Bronx, NY. The role supports surgical PA services with an emphasis on urgent care and emergency procedures during evening shifts. A NYS PA license, NCCPA certification, and BLS/ACLS/PALS are required.

Per diem schedule offers varied daily hours. BS is required; MS preferred, with PA program background considered a plus.

Medical services rendered by Surgical physician assistants may include, but are not limited to, obtaining patient histories and performing physical examinations; ordering and/or performing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures; formulating a diagnosis; developing and implementing a treatment plan; monitoring the effectiveness of therapeutic interventions; assisting at surgery; offering counseling and education to meet patient needs; making appropriate referrals. Surgical Physician Assistants, in an emergency, shall be authorized to treat any medical disease and/or perform any medical and surgical procedures at the hospital for affiliates. An emergency, for these purposed, is defined as a situation in which any delay in administering treatment would result in serious harm to the patient or an immediate threat to life of the patient and that a qualified practitioner is not immediately available.
