Job summary

Jobtailor seeks an experienced nurse practitioner or physician assistant to deliver urgent care services for patients of all ages in a fast-paced setting. You will work with or without a physician to assess, diagnose, and treat common illnesses and injuries, including minor procedures such as suturing and splinting.

The role requires mastery of EKG and X-ray interpretation, a Master’s degree from an accredited PA program, and NCCPA certification.

Qualifications

1+ year of full-time NP/PA urgent care or emergency medicine experience
Experience treating both pediatric and adult populations
Proficiency in suturing, casting, and splinting
Ability to read EKGs and X-rays
Master’s degree from accredited PA program and NCCPA certification

Responsibilities

Provide a broad range of clinical services to patients of all ages.
Treat acute episodic conditions such as sore throats, colds, flu-like symptoms, cuts, sprains, and minor infections.
Work independently or alongside a physician to assess, diagnose, and treat patients.
Recognize when to escalate care to emergency services.
Conduct physical exams and review patient medical histories.
Order and interpret diagnostic tests and imaging.
Diagnose conditions and prescribe appropriate treatments or medications.
Perform minor procedures including suturing, splinting, and casting.
Document patient encounters and treatment plans in the EMR.
Educate and counsel patients on care and prevention.
Administer vaccinations and refer patients to specialists as needed.
Work scheduled shifts of 4, 8, or 12 hours as assigned.
Perform other duties as assigned by leadership.

Minimum 1 year of full-time experience as a licensed NP or PA in an Urgent Care or Emergency Medicine setting (required)
Experience treating both pediatric and adult patient populations (required)

Proficient in preliminary reads of EKGs and X-rays (required)
Master’s degree from an accredited PA program (required)
NCCPA Certification (required)
