Job summary

Johns Hopkins Hospital is seeking an experienced Physician Assistant to join the Advanced Heart Failure Bridge Clinic (HFBC). You will independently evaluate and manage patients, develop individualized treatment plans, and work with a multidisciplinary team in a specialized outpatient cardiology setting.

This role offers autonomy within a collaborative academic environment, opportunities for program development, and potential advancement into APP leadership across ambulatory cardiology clinics.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program.
• NCCPA certification.
• Current Maryland Physician Assistant license (or eligibility).
• Minimum of two (2) years of recent cardiology experience as a practicing Physician Assistant.
• Experience managing patients with cardiovascular disease in inpatient and/or outpatient settings.
• Strong clinical judgment and excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Independently evaluating, diagnosing, and managing patients in the Heart Failure Bridge Clinic.
• Developing individualized treatment plans and optimizing guideline-directed medical therapy.
• Assessing volume status and initiating appropriate interventions (IV diuretics).
• Collaborating with Advanced Heart Failure physicians and multidisciplinary team.
• Coordinating transitions between inpatient and outpatient care to improve outcomes and reduce readmissions.
• Documenting and billing for professional services.

The Johns Hopkins Heart & Vascular Institute is seeking an experienced Physician Assistant to join our growing Advanced Heart Failure Bridge Clinic (HFBC). What You'll Do

• Independently evaluating, diagnosing, and managing patients in the Heart Failure Bridge Clinic.
• Developing individualized treatment plans while optimizing guideline-directed medical therapy.
• Assessing volume status and initiating appropriate interventions, including IV diuretic therapy.
• Managing patients with complex cardiovascular conditions in collaboration with Advanced Heart Failure physicians.
• Coordinating transitions between inpatient and outpatient care to improve outcomes and reduce hospital readmissions.
• Educating patients and families on heart failure management, medications, lifestyle modifications, and symptom monitoring.
• Collaborating with physicians, nurses, pharmacists, case managers, and other multidisciplinary team members to deliver comprehensive, patient-centered care.
• Supporting evidence-based practice, quality improvement initiatives, and established clinical protocols.
• Documenting and billing for professional services.

Qualifications

Required

• Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program.

Salary Range:

Minimum 60.93/hour - Maximum 94.45/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
